I love New York City! Every time I’m here, I never want to leave. The energy, the personalities, the fashion! We landed at JKF on Wednesday night, and the next morning, I was given a big task… to interview Glenda Bailey, Editor-In-Chief of Harper’s Bazaar.
Since the interview was at the International Center of Photography, I wanted to wear something casual yet edgy. I love pairing this soft powder pink top with something masculine. These motorcycle inspired jeans and boots fit the bill!
On my way to meeting Ms. Bailey!
Glenda Bailey is the Editor-In-Chief of Harper’s Bazaar for the past 10 years. She wanted to be a designer, but realized her limited potential and paved an alternative way to work in the fashion industry. Chatting with her moved me greatly. She embodies fearless ambition, strong willpower, and the epitome of hard work. She speaks and moves with so much grace and class. We talked about many things, but the topic that resonated with me most was her perspective on designers. She was brutally honest, which I appreciated, and shared that many people have dreams of becoming a designer but only a few will make it. Moreover, many are wasting their time pursuing a path that was not meant for them. To her, dreaming is not enough and ‘wasting time’ is the inability to execute, the under-appreciation of hard work, and the lack of vision. Meeting Glenda Bailey was definitely one of the highest points on this trip for me!
